Road Spaghetti

I know this is blurry, but imagine trying to drive 55 while navigating these roads. Welcome to Atlanta, Georgia! Now imagine some idiot trying to drive these roads while taking a cell phone picture of his GPS and mobile blogging it back to this page. Yeah. Whoozyerdaddy?!

Georgia Sunset

One of the more pleasant views of the day. Nearing sunset and we're on our way home.

Bumper Cars

Ah, yes -- bumber-to-bumper traffic an hour away from Atlanta. Great.

The paradox that is... "The South"

We had to stop for a picture here. We just left the Pilot gas station across the street where they announced over their loud speakers, "Attention truckers and travellers -- at 7pm we will be having a Bible Study around back. Y'all'r welcome!"

Nicest quarters...

Here at Andersonville Prison this is [by far] the nicest of the tent setups. They cobbled together shelter with scraps of clothing, old blankets, and any sticks they could find.

Lock, Stock, and Bozo...

The obligatory "hands in the stock" shot that you take in prisons. This is way more uncomfortable than it looks.

Mom at the Wall...

This is my mom standing in front of the rear-left corner of the fort -- where the addition was made in mid 1864 for the thousands of new prisoners that came in.

Me in the Pennsylvania Memorial...

Okay, you can't see me but I am in the bottom of the Pennsylvania Volunteers Memorial -- just around the corner from my great-great-great-great-grandfather's gravestone.

Joseph K. Vaughan's Gravestone

As the title states, this is Joseph K. Vaughan's headstone in Andersonville Prison Cemetery. Section H of the cemetery.

Mom taking pictures...

Yep - this is mom taking pictures in the cemetery.

POW Memorial Sculpture...

This obscure, red, blur was a pretty cool POW Memorial sculpture at the National POW Museum at Andersonville. Sorry it didn't come out better.

The Road to Andersonville

The road to Andersonville was beautiful -- as were the grounds. The beauty belies the brutality that occurred on these hills where nearly 13,000 men lost their lives.

Mom at Zaxby's...

This is my mom about to eat half a piece of Teriyaki Chicken. The rest was very good. :)

Atlanta skyline...

Atlanta is a beautiful city -- but I wouldn't live here for a million dollars because of the traffic. You might think I am exaggerating, but it would cost a million dollars in insurance, car repairs, and psychotherapy for me to live there.
